Online Janam Kundli software: create kundli free, PDF reports

How online Janam Kundli software works, what you need to enter, what you can read for free on screen, and when a paid PDF report makes sense — using Kundli 8 as the example.

“Online Janam Kundli software” means a browser tool that turns birth date, birth time and birthplace into a Vedic birth chart without installing anything. Kundli 8 is one such tool: you can create a kundli online, read it on screen, save it to your account and buy a PDF report if you want a document.

What a Janam Kundli contains

A Janam Kundli (birth chart) shows the Lagna (ascendant), the placement of planets in signs and houses, the Moon sign and nakshatra, and a Vimshottari dasha sequence. Panchang details at birth — Tithi, Nakshatra, Yoga, Karana and Vaar — usually sit beside it. For a Hindi walkthrough of reading these see जन्म कुंडली कैसे देखें.

What you enter

  • Birth date — day, month and year.
  • Birth time — as exact as you can get; a small error shifts the Lagna in some births.
  • Birthplace — search by city, town or region worldwide. Kundli 8 stores the selected coordinates and the IANA timezone, then derives the historical UTC offset for that date.

The historical offset matters: India did not always use the same time rules, and many other countries changed theirs. This is why a good tool asks for a place rather than a “+5:30” box.

What you can read online

  • Birth details: Ascendant, Moon sign, Nakshatra.
  • D1 Rashi and D9 Navamsha charts in North, South or East Indian layout.
  • Vimshottari Mahadasha, Antardasha and Pratyantardasha with plain-language context.
  • Birth-time Panchang.
  • Traditional interpretation written conditionally — themes, not predicted events.

The online Kundli preview is free. What each Manual chapter explains is listed at the Kundli 8 Manual; start with the Quick Start.

Steps in Kundli 8

  1. Open Create Kundli.
  2. Fill name, birth date, time and search the birthplace.
  3. Check the default Ayanamsha (N.C. Lahiri) and generate the chart.
  4. Read the Complete Report workspace: charts, dasha, Panchang and the interpretation sections.
  5. Sign in to save the kundli, so you can reopen it later instead of re-entering details.
  6. If you need a document, choose the PDF report; that needs Full Access.

Free versus paid

Creating and previewing a kundli online is free. PDF reports are not free: they need Full Access, priced at ₹999 / ₹2,499 / ₹9,999 in India and $10 / $24 / $99 internationally on Pricing. A limited 15-day explore period exists, and PDF export stays gated. For a longer explanation read free kundli vs paid PDF reports.

Accuracy checks you can do yourself

  • Re-enter the same chart in another reputable tool and compare Lagna and Moon sign. If they differ, check the Ayanamsha and timezone first.
  • Confirm the birth time from a document, not memory.
  • Remember that two traditions can legitimately differ on dasha year length or Ayanamsha; a good tool names its choice.

Kundli 8 validates its Ayanamsha engine against a reference chart: 15 August 1970, 14:35 IST, Delhi gives a Lahiri ayanamsha of 23.4463°.

Who should use it

Anyone who wants a chart they can reopen: families keeping a few kundlis, students of Jyotish and professional astrologers. If you need many clients, see the pandit checklist. For matching two charts see Kundli matching. Interpretations describe traditional associations; they are not guarantees, nor medical or legal advice.

Questions

Is online Janam Kundli creation free in Kundli 8?

The online Kundli preview is free. PDF reports require Full Access, so a PDF is never free.

What details do I need?

Birth date, birth time and birthplace. Kundli 8 searches places worldwide, stores coordinates and the IANA timezone, and derives the historical UTC offset for that date.

Which Ayanamsha does a new chart use?

New charts start on N.C. Lahiri. Name the school on any chart you share, because another Ayanamsha can move planets across sign or nakshatra boundaries.

What if I only know the approximate birth time?

Moon sign and nakshatra can be stable across several hours, but Lagna and house placements can change quickly. Treat an approximate time as approximate.

Does Kundli 8 work in my language?

There are 18 interface language choices. UI, terms and narrative coverage vary by language, so do not assume every paragraph is translated.
