Best kundli software for pandits 2026: charts, Ayanamsha, dasha, matching, PDF

A pandit’s checklist for choosing kundli software — what to test with a chart you already know, and where Kundli 8 (a web tool) fits. No “best engine” slogans.

A pandit does not only need a chart; they need a repeatable routine: take birth details at the desk or on the phone, check the chart, explain dasha, match two families and give something printed. Many people search “best kundli software for pandits” expecting one winner. There isn’t one. This page is a filter you can run in ten minutes, then an honest description of what Kundli 8 does.

Why pandits switch tools

  • Old desktop software is tied to one computer; a family’s kundli is stuck on that machine.
  • Free calculators give a quick chart but rarely let you save, reopen or print consistently.
  • Mobile apps are convenient for the customer, awkward for a long consultation with a family.

A browser-based tool such as Kundli 8 suits a pandit who works from a shop, a temple office and a phone in the same week.

Seven-point checklist before you commit

  1. Test chart. Enter a kundli you have already checked by hand. Compare Lagna, Moon sign, nakshatra and a few planetary degrees. Kundli 8’s reference check is a Lahiri ayanamsha value of 23.4463° for 15 August 1970, 14:35 IST, Delhi.
  2. Place and timezone. Old births in India need the historical UTC offset, not today’s. Kundli 8 stores the selected coordinates and IANA timezone and derives the offset for the birth date.
  3. Ayanamsha. Know which school the output uses and print it on the chart.
  4. Charts. North, South and East Indian layouts matter because clients are used to different styles.
  5. Timing. Vimshottari Mahadasha, Antardasha and Pratyantardasha should reconcile with your manual calculation.
  6. Matching. Eight koot rows, not just one total.
  7. Hand-over. A document you can give to a client or keep in a file.

Ayanamsha you can name

Two pandits can disagree on a planet’s sign if they use different Ayanamsha. New charts in Kundli 8 start on N.C. Lahiri, the most common choice in North India. Other historical modes exist inside the product, but customer selectors stay conservative until a mode is reconciled with independent references. See the Manual’s Ayanamsha chapter before you tell a client that a different school was used.

Dasha and charts

Customer reports prioritise D1 Rashi and D9 Navamsha and the Vimshottari timing tables. Other Shodashavarga charts may display but are not presented as fully verified for scoring. If you rely on D10 or D60 for a particular reading, check them by hand rather than assuming the software’s display is complete. This honesty is useful for you: you will not repeat an unverified claim to a family.

Matching for families

Families usually bring two sets of details. Kundli 8’s matching tool scores the 36-point Ashtakoot from both charts and shows each koot row, so you can explain why a total is 24 or 29. Manglik is a separate check and is not part of the 36. Read the Gun Milan guide (Hindi) for the family-facing explanation; the public overview is at Kundli matching.

Saving client kundlis

Once you sign in, a created kundli can be saved and reopened later in the same Complete Report workspace. That is the main practical gain over a free one-time calculator. Keep your own consent practice: birth data is personal, and a client’s family may not want it stored.

PDF reports

The online Kundli preview is free to create. A PDF report needs Full Access — the PDF is not free. Current Full Access prices are ₹999 / ₹2,499 / ₹9,999 in India and $10 / $24 / $99 internationally, as listed on Pricing. A limited 15-day explore period lets you try the workspace; PDF export stays gated. Details on what the PDF contains are in the Manual’s Reports & PDF chapter, and this comparison explains free versus paid.

How Kundli 8 fits a pandit’s routine

Questions

Is there one “best” kundli software for pandits?

No. It depends on your workflow: client volume, school (Lahiri or another Ayanamsha), matching habits and whether you hand over printed reports. This guide gives a checklist; Kundli 8 is one web option, not a ranking claim.

Can I save my clients’ kundlis in Kundli 8?

Yes. Kundli 8 lets a signed-in user save a kundli and reopen it later in the same Complete Report workspace. Keep client consent and privacy in mind when storing birth data.

Does Kundli 8 do Gun Milan for client families?

Yes. The matching tool scores the 36-point Ashtakoot from two sets of birth details and shows each koot row. Manglik status is a separate check, not part of the 36.

Is the PDF free?

No. The online Kundli preview is free to create, but PDF reports need Full Access. Plans are listed on the Pricing page.

Does it replace my own judgement?

No. Software gives chart facts and traditional associations. Reading the chart, explaining it kindly and avoiding fear or guarantees remains the pandit’s job.
