The application checks Mars in houses 1, 2, 4, 7, 8 or 12 counted from Lagna. Its assessment names the reference and the qualifying houses. A placement outside that set does not meet this particular rule. This is the existing app rule, not a new public calculation or a claim that every school uses identical criteria. Why accurate time and location matter
Lagna depends on the birth moment and location. Confirm morning versus evening, the calendar date and the correct city before interpreting a house number. If the birth time is approximate, a precise-looking label may still be uncertain. The generator uses the selected ayanamsa, normally N.C. Lahiri as its starting choice. Compare like-for-like settings when two websites show different results. North, South and East chart drawings do not themselves change planetary placement.
Lagna, Moon and Venus are different references
Some traditions repeat the Mars-house check from the Moon or Venus. A reference change can produce a different house count, so a useful report must say what it counted from. Do not read a Lagna-based result as if it automatically includes all three references.
